Without a few clamps you will have a hard time keeping everything square. I would recommend investing in at least a couple bar clamps and one corner clamp.
I don't even use screws...

In addition, screws can be used to hold two pieces of wood together while the glue dries. As opposed to leaving a clamp on a bond for a half hour waiting on your Titebond to dry.....
