EXISTING BANDPASS ENCLOSURE- RE AUDIO MX 12 2ohm DVC- 06 CHRYSLER 300- Advice Please

Hey everyone! First post here. Got an 06 Chrysler 300 and need help with calculating volume and tuning of my existing band pass enclosure. I am running an RE AUDIO USX-45kv.1 monoblock amp (1500rms) that pushes an RE AUDIO MX 12" DVC 2 ohm sub. The enclosure is a bandpass box that is ported through the rear deck beneath the back window. The sub recently stopped playing so I sent it to RE AUDIO to be fixed. To access the sub I had to disassemble the box a bit.

The enclosure did produce lows and seemed to hit really hard. I would have my bass remote knob at about 2/3 max and it was bumpin hard. Not sure as to why the sub had quit on me so I took some pics and measurements of the enclosure for review by the boys at RE Audio. They told me the box was a series tuned (ported firing into ported) box and they advised sealing the port between primary chamber and secondary chamber to making it a traditional 4th order box. I did this however the bass seems very weak compared to what it was before repairing the sub.

The gains and crossover settings are as they were before. They made need adjustment based on sealing off that port. Additionally the port coming into the car (from the trunk to the underside of the rear deck) was sealed to the rear deck using dynamat. An upholstered panel with a smaller port sits on top of the rear deck with the smaller port extending down into the lower port again using dynamat to form a seal. Right now no dynamat is in use to seal the port to the rear deck and the panel with the smaller port is not installed . I'm assuming these things will affect the output of the box . Below is a link to a photobucket page with pics and measurements, the message from RE AUDIO regarding the box and what they advised, and speaker specs. Any advice from you forum users here will be very much appreciated . I'm looking to figure out volume and tuning of this with and without port to confirm what RE Audio advised because the sound is not all that and it was bangin before the sub went out . I don't want to seal the ports up and waste the dynamat without knowing if I should open up the port as it was before first. Could the enclosure with ported firing into ported have damaged the sub to begin with?

Thanks in advance

So to make sure, you have a 6th order and RE is saying the sub should be in a 4th order? I wasnt clear is RE was saying the the box killed the sub which can happen. Either way, Im not sure you will have success just plugging the port to make it a 4th order. The reality is you may have to scrap your current box get a design and start over. Right now you are basically doing the guessing game on ports, box size, and ratios and the can end up bad.
