excess wires around the sub?

hey im wiring my sub and i was wondering, should i let the wires droop below the " Motor " or should i keep it tight , rap it in and out of the cage ( which sounds bad,,, haha )

My wires are just hanging underneath the motor and I haven't noticed any issues. Having the wires too tight around the basket could potentially block off cooling vents.

It is absolutely crucial that you make sure your wires don't droop, if you don't the electricity would be up to flow "upstream" and you won't get any power to the subs.

its just a single wire on each side ^^ so i don't think cooling is an issue, but idk how hot the motors get? as i wouldn't want it touching it if they get hot

see how those wires are drooping, those subs aren't seeing anywhere near as much power as they would if they weren't below the motors.

Not too tight, but as tight as possible, minimal droop is ideal...

I'm just kidding bro, it doesn't matter if your wires droop, seriously, just stick it in a box.

He is being facetious, a few extra inches of wire isn't gonna make any difference.

the magnet gets hot, so you want to avoid wires firmly against it... depending on the wire. some wires have better insulation than others.

strain relief on the connector is a nice idea as well. i have seen a lot of issues with loose connections. some subs have tabs on the basket to facilitate using a zip tie to secure the wire for strain relief.
