Excelon X-990 Noise Issues Or Not??

I have had the X-990 now for a few months. Some people have said this is noise comming for the screen. Well now I am sure for at least my deck, there is no noise whatsoever, The only noise I had was comimg from my 4 channel amp. Now that I have a new Alpine amp, noise does not exsist. None, Nadda. This is a awesome deck and I would have to scare people by saying there is noise from the screen. I'm not saying some people on here have not had the problem, I'm just saying check all of you bases before crying wolf.

The noise emitted via the 4096 color screen and does not travel through the speaker wires or rca's. I purchased my first 990 from crutchfield brand new and sent it in as I thought it might possibly be faulty. Then upon receiving the second unit, it was the same. It is a very, very, faint high pitched noise. Some people can here it and to others it is unnoticeable. I could hear it at first from different listening angles. My friend could not and said I have "super sonic hearing". You may beable to hear it with your head next to the deck, but what does that matter. Anyway it diminishes when your listening to your music/road noise(if you can here it to begin with). So to answer you question, I would say no. I have the unit now and will use it till it breaks or I buy another excelon.

Well, when I was making my decision to get one, someone posted about noise problems and left the message that YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! It made sound like there was going to be alot of noise here. Obviously if that would have been the case, I would have sent it back to Crutchfield and got a p880. Fortunantly, this is a fabulous deck and I am very happy with it. Noise is not a issue.

BS.....Excelons have always been the quietest HU's .

in 20 years of car audio I prefer them over the other 2-3 big name HU MFG's

Hmm......my XXV-01D has the same 4,096 color screen as the X990 and I've not heard any noise coming from the display??

Naw, there is no noise here. You have the 25th anniversary deck. How sweet! I guess the X-990 is the closest thing to that deck. Nevertheless, these decks are the bomb!
