Ever wired up a mechman from a different year to your year vehicle? Same model

Taking a mechman made for an 04-05 ram, and want to install it to my 16 ram. Housings are the same, just wondering if it’s as simple as just looking for that particular plug and if I can’t find a plug, what’s the simplest y’all have made it work? Thanks in advance

Older units are externally regulated. New units, Internal. Ship it to mechman, they swap it out, and ship it back. Bolts right up. For what it’s worth keep it up, or mods please delete. Thanks!
