eroor when trying to install bass box

I get an error when I try to install that bass bx design program

It says... 16 bit windows subsystem

C:/windows/system32/autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application

close ignore

I use windows XP is there anything I can do??

I think you have to set your screen color depth to 16 bit to install BBP.

I tried that and it still pops up do i have to set it and then restart or something???
