Equalizer feedback

Sup guys.

Whenever I turn my car on or off, i get a feedback through my speakers and subwoofer. I only get this feedback with the clarion equalizer hooked up. With just the HU, no feedback.

The EQ was gounded to the ground going to the HU but I since moved it and ground it to the body of the car. sanded clean.

Any idea why this is?
