Eq & crossover & amp question

So I have 1 amp for the mids/highs & another amp for the subwoofers now how can I keep the bass away from the mids even tho I have all the gains turn down on the amp the for voice speakers but for some reason it's still getting bass to them when I turn the bass up on my headunit do I need a crossover or eq and does anyone has diagram how to install it thank you

Yes you will need some kind of crossover to filter out the bass from your speakers. Does your amp have a built-in HPF (high pass filter) on it? Sometimes you can do it off your headunit.

yes it has hpf on it but that's all set is when I turn the bass up in my headunit so I would have to get a crossover I guess lol

When you say turn the bass up, do you mean the subwoofer output or just the EQ bass setting? Does your HPF have an adjustable crossover you can play around with? If so, move it up until you hear no bass from the speakers or to a place where it sounds more balanced to you. Make sure to turn off the sub output while you're doing this so you can hear the speakers clearly.

alos, which set of rca's from the h/u are you using for the highs? front or rear? What h/u do you have? One more question, what frequency is the amp set at? as far as hz
My h/u is avh-p1400dvd I'm using the front rca jack & subs rear rca jack
