No sound from head unit

My 10 yr old Alpine head unit is connected to a Clarion equalizer. Today I don't have any sound from my unit. Alpine and equalizer power up and I get a display on the head unit but no sound from radio or CD player. Connections look okay between Alpine and equalizer and fuses are good. (fyi: Recently had faulty Hazard light terminal in car, as well.) What could be wrong?

Disconnect eq and see if the hu works then

How do you know it is not your amplifier (downstream of the EQ)?

Maybe the amp simply isn't getting a signal on it's REMOTE input terminal?
