Epic 160 review

it's definitely a standard 1/2 din if it's like the four.1 I have

The effects from the epicenter restoration circuitry are unnatural at best, can lead to terrible clipping problems if overused (as mentioned above).

Well there's some control over what kind of boost you want, isn't it? and a control for how much you want it to affect the music. Does it still doesn't help if its just set at the minimum setting?

That's the manual for it. Read CAREFULLY about the knob labeled "1" and all your questions will be answered.
I already read that and that's why i was asking... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif You all seems to say that there's absolutly no way to make modern songs get "better" bassline. I don't really plan to use this on jeezy's song, but my gf listen alot of rock, and i just need to crank my gain to get some descent bassline out of it....

So if you got the choice for the amount , the Q point and the widness of the boost... how can it be bad no mather what?

yeah, if you're trying to pull bass out of rock music, it would be an effective way to target specific freqs and boost only those...say the the upper bass portion.

Another easy way is to crank up that "bass boost" knob on your Brutus. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

The "other" controls are part of a parametric EQ - NOT part of the bass restoration. If that's all you want, you might be better off with a three.1 or four.1

have ben reading this sentence 10x and i'm still no sure i understand. If The "frenquency" and "Width" knob aren't part of the bass restoration, that would mean that there will be a parametric boost engange that you can't turn off, is that right? The restoration ain't adjustable at all and by hooking it, you can ruin a perfect sound of a flatline because of the un-engangeable parametric band

That would be stupid coming of Audiocontrol

Directly from Audiocontrol - "The Sweep knob allows the user to pick the center frequency of the bass restoration. With the Sweep knob turned all the way to the left, The Epicenter® is centering restoration on 27Hz. With the Sweep knob turned all the way to the right, The Epicenter® is centering on 63Hz. The middle position represents approximately 45Hz. The Sweep knob can be set to center The Epicenter®'s restoration anywhere between 27Hz and 63Hz.

The Wide knob allows the user to control the width of the restoration. With the Wide knob turned all the way to the left, bass response is tighter and harder hitting. With the Wide knob turned all the way to the right, the bass response becomes more booming and open."

I don't know about you guys, but it sounds like fun to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
