Epic-160 mounting help

ok so i picked up an epic-160 from another forum member the other day and im trying to find a place to mount it

i want a place that is

- within reach (easily in reach)

- provides best view of display

- provides best place for mic to pick up pressure

- and over all most functional

i came up with this spot (center top of dash)

but i am considering two mounting positions

or (ignore Ipod)

the enclosure would of course be glassed and vinyled to match

ive never made an enclosure like this so i need as much how to stuff as possible and also hints and tips and just general feedback, thanks

if it were me.........id custom make a bracket so you can have it right on top or underneath your h/u. i think that would look nice and clean, and it would be right at your fingertips.

try take a pic of the whole center part of the dash(below or above the deck).

wont fit near deck my HVAC controls are huge and theres no space below the hu, so on top of dash, or under steering coloum ar my only options

and if i do on top of dash it would go in a custom fiber glass bracket/enclosure

nope i wanna keep that area as stock as possible and the depth there is not enough for the epic
