entering an exercise comp tomorow.....

i know. but i did like 13 situps a week ago and my abs for hurting for 3 days straight after that. i always do pull ups and dips though.
why do i find this really really hard to belive. ohh i know why cause this is bullshit. you can do pull ups and dips but can do more than 13 situps, i laugh in your face chunk.

Try dips and pullups from gymnastic rings(50-60 bucks, can be hung from any swing set or at home). More stabilizing muscles worked, more variety, and you can work static holds from those positions(front lever, back lever, l-sit, etc...).

Situps are overrated. Challenge yourself with l-sits, planks, windmills, turkish getups, etc.. for core work. Just because someone can do a ton of situps doesn't mean their core is strong.

Anyways, enough with my rant, good luck with the competition.

pull-ups wouldn't be a prob on rings, but dips?!?!?!? dips on straps of any kind are hard as fuk !!!!!!!! i'm workin on gettin a pull-up bar at home.

compound lifts that don't include core? there is a reason it's called core, b/c it is used in almost every single workout. I'm a wrestling coach and I never make my wrestlers do situps or crunches but I know for a fact that could do over 100 easily.

bench presses, push ups, dips, shoulder/military presses, chin- ups, 1/2 assed squats, stiff leg deadlifts, curls, tricep pushdowns, lateral raises, upright rows, shrugs. how much core work do u see??
