I have a pair of cdt642dts and they are rated at 150rms and am looking at the Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 and Titanium 600.2 I really dont have the money for the TItanium even tho it would give me the 150x2. My question is will the speakers still sound good and be able to be pretty loud w/o distortion on the Tantrums 125x2 or should i really save up for the titanium 600.2

i would suggest the JBL 300.1. its like $150 or something

yeah forget getting a PG why pay the money for it when you really don't need to. they make great stuff just too much money in my opinion. i would go with a jbl300.1 also if you wanted they do make very good amps and do what they say so.

A few more questions, sorry, im still pretty new to all this stuff

the speakers are rated at 4 ohms, will the jbl300.1 still be able to give them 150 each?

this will be done by running them parallel right?

also, i see the jbl always listed as a sub amp, is that just because its a one channel?

last, although ihavent installed anything, i just want to make sure that the amp won't be the "Weak point" of my system, I have an alping 7995 and the Cdt642 dts and just want to make sure it will keep the sound nice. Thanks for all the help so far

personally i would never touch a piece of alpine equipment but that is just me. now if you want a better amp than the JBL and a better amp in my opinion than the pg's for roughly the same price look into jl. look into the jl300/2 a great amp but very pricy. i know everyon who knows me that reads this will think i'm a traitor or sick b/c i hate Jl but i know they make fantastic amps just really pricey.

alpine is a f*cking awesome company. Their head units are absolutely amazing. Their subs (the type r at least) produce thunderous clear bass, and speakers are great too. I cant touch the amps, for i stick with rfx, jbl, and jl. And JL is a very nice company. Half my block has jls in their trunk and not a single complaint. But then again none of us are spl freaks that want to crank out every coloumb of power their amp can produce.
