Enough port area?

This is what I got for rear port velocity... on 600 watts input... it's more port area than I would use personally for a single 12 on 600 watts... but I don't tune that low... lol... 26hz... I just don't like the curve I'm seeing for frequency response... IDK... I wouldn't trust my results... Ima' gonna keep lookin' at it... you got me stumped on this one... I'm gonna say Jeffdacheff or Papermaker or someone will come along and help...

Is this the driver in the Winisd database?... cause this is what I'm seeing... IDK why?.. Look at the port length to get to that tune with a 5" Round!

They probably want even lower tuning and/or smaller box to give a flat response. That's why people tune HT subs 18hz, not so much that you often need to play down to 12hz but just to make them flat and wide.

I'd say 4" round would probably be adequate for single 12 on 600W. My bigger worry is that port length will be impossible to fit in the box.

Thats LOW... this looks to be super efficent btw

I've seen subs model up horribly and absolutely kill it when they are installed. I don't rely too heavily on Winisd but it's nice to get an idea of where the peak is and how steep the roll off is.

I'll be applying a subsonic filter at 14hz 24db...that may tame things a bit.

If I can get away with a 4inch round port that would be easier for sure...I just don't know if that would be adequate...I would rather error on the side of caution and have more than enough, than not enough. WINISD recommends 2.5cubes tuned at 23hz!

i'd tune at 33 hz still play low but be louder and have lot shorter port., or based on the 22m/s port velocity maybe go with 4" instead.
I don't mind sacrificing output for lower extension. i would much rather go lower than louder.

What's the most common method of port design in your typical "L" shaped box when the port is longer than the box allows?

Here's two different styles i've seen, (rough sketched this to show you what i'm talking about)

2nd 1 is easier if u round corners and if u use 3 sides of the box like that u can subtract 1/2 width of port from length... labyrinth would need 8 corner boards just more work.. don't know if 1 is really better..

Like OP stated, there are radios with higher power output. Most radios have around 18 watts RMS per channel. They mostly claim 50w per channel but...
