Engine Ground Necessity in the Big 3?

So I recently got around to doing my Big 3 and unfortunately, my engine ground bolt is under my intake manifold and impossible to reach without removing it. I currently have my Alt charge wire to my batt, and the frame ground hooked up, but I couldn't get the engine one. My question is, is it completely necessary and does it benefit significantly to have it? I used my DMM to see if my ****** was a decent ground and it wasn't so I didn't bother hooking that up. Should I try to find another random bolt on the block to ground to or just leave it as it is? Thanks in advance.

the engine block ground is what grounds the alternator so if the charge leadf is 1/0 the ground should match. If you want after you run new ground just cut the old one

I left both OEM grounds in place for now, and most likely plan on leaving them once done. I'll look for a good bolt later today and see if I can throw that wire in. Thanks to the layout of the engine bay though, Only needed ~3 feet or less of wire so far.
