I didnt want to build a Custom box because i dont have the right tools, and im not the best at that but when i got my sub installed at a local car audio shop, they gave me just a standard truck sub box.

dimensions are like (just estimate)

BD - 7"

TD - like 3-5"

Width - 15-16"

Height: 14-15"

My Subwoofer is a

Kicker CVT12 @ 2ohm

12" 2 OHM VOICE COIL SUBWOOFER

* 400 Watts RMS

800 Watts max

Sensitivity 87.1 db

Freq. response 25 - 500 hz

Mounting depth 4 - 5/16"

Mounting diameter 10-15/16

Perimiter venting

Spring loaded terminals

Sealed enclosure volume min.- 1-4.6 cubic foot Max volume 4.6 cubic foot

Vented enclosure vol. 1.75 - 2.25 cubic feet

So yeh, is this sized box a good enclosure for my subwoofer?

And also, why does the Size of the box matter, why do you need airspace and stuff?..

Thanks for the answers.
