Enclosure pro's and cons?

Looking to build a down fire Sealed box for 2-10's or 2-12's for space saving. Any drawbacks to a box like this vs a rear fire ?

if you get it to close to the floor could cause cancellation or muffled issues

in an open air vehicle like a jeep a sealed box should sound alright.. but i wouldn't build it down firing.. it will muffle the sound.. sealed boxs give you tighter cleaner bass.. i would fire them back in a sealed box if it was me..

Yeah that was the original plan to begin with and then I read a post on down firing. Sounded like a good idea and would be great for concealment, but if it muffles the sound, **** it I'll go back to plan A. I got the Cherokee almost blacked out anyway.
