Hey guys,

Well, the first of two 18's is on it's way tomorrow so I've been wanting to start cementing a plan for the subs and port setup. Im really not wanting to do a full wall, and im going to go with one of the following options. There are ups and downs to each one, which is why im not too sure on my choice yet. Just let me know what you would run and why //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Option 1: Subs up, port up...this one I think would be my last choice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I just dont think it would get as loud as the other two..and wouldnt allow a very good setup for an interchangeable port

Option1.jpg

Option 2: Subs forward, port in the rear window...I just think this would have the most potential to get loud, but since im wanting to try and do an interchangeable port setup, this would make it very difficult because I would have the port pretty darn close and up in the rear window..

Option2.jpg

Option 3: Subs up, port forwards...this is my first choice as of now, all I would need to do as far as the interchangeable port goes, is take out my seats and swap it on out...easiest and I also think it'd have plenty of potential to get loud

Option3.jpg

So, my vote would be #3 right now, but just wanting to know some opinions from everyone.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Summer time she'll be complete (hopefully by mid-summer) I was planning on another XXX10000, one for each sub...but that in itself will call for 1000+ in batteries and a good $900 for the amp itself...and I can't really hang with those kinds of costs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif...so for now, just the one, lonesome, little XXX10k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Hopefully down the road the amp upgrade will take place. And I may be adding another D3100 during this upgrade but we'll see, I may just keep it the way it is since they fit so well down in the spare tire well.

But this will be tuned to 29-30Hz daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif...240-260 sq inches of port hopefully...and 13 cubes net....should destroy the lows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

That's also what im thinking..if I can tilt the seats forward and adjust them to remove the port that'd be awesome...though I'd be taking out my passenger seat for comps most likely anyways

if they subs get good and close to the window in 3 I vote that, I wonder how much they will load off of it. I think just wall it like a nromal wall and be done with it women only need a back window

That's why I think the second option would be better so the port can load off the window nicely...but im not too sure how close I can get the subs to the rear window though (their a good 10-11" tall I would guess)...I could drop the enclosure a bit to make for more clearance I suppose...hmm

And it's not about having a rear window (I no-longer even bother puting my rearview mirror up, never can use it even at moderate volume)...it's just that anyone and their brother would wall it and everyone's seen a wall of the sort...I think this will just be more fun on the daily and a quicker build than a wall

I might be just saying 'screw-it' to the port idea...I may go with option 2 or 3 but either/or I think im going to just stick with a low-tuned port all the time...since I dont compete all that seriously (this will still be a daily driver for the most-part) and this will be mostly just to have some fun...I think im going to just stay true and stay looow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...this will be peaking a good bit lower than my current 35Hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Subs up, port to the side...
Open your door... swap your port...

Allow for clearances //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
