im going to put ONE e12kd4 on a sealed enclosure located on the wheel well. i calculated the volume of my wheel well already. my calculation yielded a 1.3 cu^ft. is that enough for an e12kd4. btw, if ever i choose to go ported help be with the port hole size. thanks man.

another thing, is it ok to hook a e12kd2 on a JBL 600.1 or its better to have a e12kd4 on a JBL 600.1

NEED HELP BAD!

1.3 is too big....1 would be the absolute biggest to use, but something along the lines of .75 or so would be better......

Get the dual 4 ohm version, and wire it in parallel for a 2 ohm load. You could use the dual 2 ohm version and wire it in parallel for a 1 ohm load, but a 2 ohm load would be easier on the amp, so get the D4.

why should he not go so big?

ED recommends 1.0 cubes as the "Audiophile box" meaning he would get a very flat response.... 1 cube is perfect, with anythin slightly bigger having even a flatter response...

go ahead, do 1.1 cubes, no worries...

why should he not go so big?
I had the 2002 model K's and had them in a 1.25 box before displacement and I didnt like the flat response you spoke of....I switched to .85 before displacement and was much more satisfied with the output....if anything he can leave it at 1.3 and see how it sounds. If he's happy, then no problem, but if hes not you can always add some pieces of MDF inside the box to take up some more volume. I was just speaking from my experience with the K's

Many people prefer the crispness of a box with a lower Qtc than 0.7. There's no reason he shoudln't make the box 1.3. It's easier to decrease the volume of the box than to build another box to increase it.

i agree with you TOTALLY. especially that he is putting it on the spare tire well. makeing another one bigger would definitly be another pain in **** to work with. so as MARK said its better to make something small bigger than the other way around.
