Enclosure for 12" Punch HX2's

I know someone who has 4 12" HX2's, the punch, not the power series. He wants to know which would be better, sealed or ported and since he has a PG Xenon X1200. (1200w @ 1 - 4 ohms), how many of the subs should he run?

what are they going in? how much room does he have? i've actually got a box i drew up a week or so ago. its for 2 HX2's, its 6th order bandpass.

Well he can use either 2, 3, or 4. I thought they are the power which can take 1k each, but they are the punch. I dont' know if it would be best to go with 3 or 4 though. He has an '05 Altima sedan. He can probably fit 6 cubes (net) in there

I ran 2 15" hx2's in a sealed box seperate chamber with 1.75ft3.hit awesom lows.

Thats prob recommended specs. I know how he is so he'll probably wanna stick to rec. specs, which is 1.25 cubes per driver. He doesn't like ported for some reason, but wants to get more output. Conflict right there, i mean yeah he can get a good amount of output with a sealed enclosure but not as much with a ported. Question is, would 3 or 4 subs be better for the power he has available?

If I remember right the 15's were 1200 max so I would say he would be fine.Yes ported gets more output but you don't have the response sealed does.but either way he should be happy.More cone area is always better!!!

Thanks...guess he wants to stick with 2 12's. Why I dont know. But he wants to push the enclosure all the way to where it would rest behind the rear seats so he has plenty of cargo area. Question is, it would be blocking pretty much all airspace between the cabin and the trunk. I'm thinking it would make a difference, but would it be noticeable? Less loud? (He wants the subs to face the rear rather than the front, I'm going to assume because he wants people to see the subs when he pops open the trunk
