Enclosure design for Hertz subs

Hi Guys,

I'm turning to you for some assistance in designing a box for two 12" Hertz 300 subs. I did build a sealed enclosure as per the recommended specs but find the sound "messy".

The sub specs are:

Xmax mm 14

Re Ohm 2,9

Le mH@10kHz 0,56

The max outer dimensions of the area in my car are:

Width - 31"

Height - 16"

Depth - tbd

I'm hoping someone could offer a ported/vented design.

The subs will be powered by the sub channel on my 5 channel amp, Audison lrx 5.1k

I'll take a look at the specs, but I can't imagine vented sounding less "messy".

Maybe try a few blocks of wood in each chamber to reduce the available space;

ie reduce the size of the sealed enclosure. See if that tightens things up. In the

mean time I'll look at the specs and make a box recommendation based on my

opinion.

You could do 5 cubes at 30-34hz with 75 sq" of port area. That is a really

large box for most medium to small cars.

If you don't mind looking at the specs that would be great. Keep in mind I only have 31" width and 16" in height to play with.

I can build the box, but when it comes to the calculations I have no idea.

I pulled it straight off the website. They are exactly as printed on the manual that came with the subs.

5 cubes @ 30-34hz is what I came up with after looking at the specs.
