Elemental Designs NINe.2?

Do you think the Elemental Designs NINe.2 would be lacking the power for a set of DLS Iridiums 6.2's. I was originally going to use a JL 300/2 but if you think I could get away with the ED amp that would be great.

I don't know if you have ever heard or had amped speakers before, but they are a lot more different. 100 watts to each should be plenty for the iridiums, unless you like it really loud. In fact, I am pretty sure that is the RMS of these speakers anyway so it should be perfect. eD products are great, simple, and you can't beat a three year warranty. Go for it.

the nine.2 is a solid 100x2 it would work but wouldnt have some of the benifits of the 300/2. the 300/2 is a solid 150 all the time but also it is only about 1.5 db louder.

its probably the tightest regulated amp on the market (the / series) so it will show its characteristics at all volumes (some people notice some dont) but if you are asking a pure power question there isnt a huge diff between 100 watts and 150. not trying to confuse you but the linearity (for some reason i have used this word alot today lol) should be more constant than the nine.2 to honestly say it sounds better i cant and wont say that either. on the power side of it it isnt that big of a deal.

Ok I can get the 300/2 new w/ warranty for around 300.00 and I think the nine.2 is like 215.00 so I guess do you think it is worth the extra dough for the JL?

I am not using any other amps currently. This is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee I am just starting to get it going. I was planning on adding a sub undecided on which one. I was going to just get a mono amp to power the sub. So the 300/2 or nine.2 would just be for the components.

sq is more about how you install it and tune it more so than the "great equipment" the nine's are fine

The nine.2 is underrated, it's more like 160x2.

I have both the 9.1 and 9.2. You should be able to get the nine.2 for $175 on their site. Click on the link to "buy" and you should get that price. The nine.2 is 100X2 at 12.5 volts so more like 120X2 at 13.5 volts would be more accurate. I would not waste money on the 300/2.....I had the 300/4 bridged running 150X2 and it sounded no better or louder that my current nine.2.
