Well here's the story. I call up what i thought was Avionixx, but aparantly the number was to Elemental, no biggie, same diff. I was interested in buying the AXA 600.4, but sadly for me he sold out like a couple days ago. But the guy let me in on a little secret. Because of Elemental's close ties to Avionixx, they are going to work together and start producing Elemental amps out of Avionixx (sort of like Tsunami contracted, but more working together). These are the amps being planned.

eD 200 (2 channel that is rated at 2 X 100 @ 4ohms, but he told me it'd do 130)

eD 400 (4 channel claimed to be rated at 4 X 90 @ 4 ohms, but very similar to the 600.4. I personally think it'll be 4X100 just by the number, but what do i know)

500D, 1000D, 2000D. he said 1000 would be very nicely priced because that is what 80% of the people will want. 2000 i understood would be in a higher class.

They will look very similar to the Avionixx, except the heatsinks will be changed, and different color, logo, etc.

I was also wondering if they will comprable to the Avionixx prices because I like the affordable awesome bang for your buck. He said they would be Price BETTER. I sure hope so, cuz those are great prices allready!

now when can we expect this??? He said they hope to be shipping Amps in 90 - 100 DAYS!! I hope i can wait the 3-4 months. I'll have to make do with my rockford 851x. Can't wait till they come out.

Let me know if this interested anyone else!

That's great and all but what about prices?..
The guy said he couldn't give me any specific prices at all but to know that they will be right around where the Avionixx amps are priced and perhaps even better.

When do the new Better Audio amps come out?

if this is true...............its pretty awesome

Well, those are very good points about the legitamacy. I too wondered how accurate this guy could be. I didn't really pressure him into anything really. He was quite eager to share and one of those blah blah blah guys that will just keep talking. He first told me of the 2 channel. Then i asked about the one i was interested the 4 channel and he told me it would be the eD 400. Then very briefely he said they would make a 500d 1000d and 2000d. He mentioned they'd try to make the 1000d the most affordable cuz that is "what everyone wants". The reason i remembered all this was because i had some paper here i was gonna write stuff down about the 4 channel amp order, and i just scribbled down the models and ratings and basically the jist of what he said.

I am new to this board, but fairly experienced in car audio. I never heard of the nine.1 before...sounds like it was a big hipe.

Like i said i was looking to call Avionixx to place an order, and when i got up to the checkup counter and stuff i realize that it had sent me to an elemental link and the transaction goes through them i guess...

the number i called was 319 230 4129. Notice the avionixx tech help is 562.

I would highly recommend someone call them up and inquire about getting a Avionixx 600.4, then ask how long till they are restocked. Then say you heard a rumor of an eD line out of Avionixx.

I may even call again and see how accurate these statements I heard were.

I didn't want to lead people astray and claim these were true facts. I am personally gonna hold off on powering my 2 shiva's for 90-100 days, in hopes that they are true.

In summary, his exact words at the end were "we HOPE to be shipping them in 90-100 days" Not "we will" or "we are"...."we HOPE". So it is a hope to eD and i bet to all the eD fans out there.

If i had to put a number on it, by the apparant intelligence of the guy I was talking to and the overall conversation, i'd feal safe being 85% sure they will come out.

BUT PLEASE, Someone else inquire and call that number to see if it's a sure thing!

I hope that clears some concerns up for some people.

It was a disaster. People were ordering the amps left and right, eD couldn't take all the orders, something happened at customs with the amps....pretty much everything that could go wrong did.

Allllrighty folks...here's some brand new information. I too was not sure of the accuracy of the statements made...soooo, today i called back and spoke to another guy to get some more information.

As of yesterday, the deal/design was signed and is now a sure thing for 2 amps only.

They will be a 2 X 100 stereo amp, and a 1000D mono block.

They are expected to be available in what sounded like 2 months, but there are always delays and stuff, so I would think 3. The 400 and 2000d like i mentioned will perhaps be added later on down the road depending the success of the first 2 amps. He could not give out prices just yet, but i pressured for just a ballpark and he said to expect it to be in the area of the Tsunami DB1100. the 1000 he said would be @ 1 ohms. I hope it's like the n/a Avionixx 1000D and does 1000@ 2 ohms and @ 1 ohms, but that's just my hope, cuz i have a 2 ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif .

So that is all the info i've got, no 4 channel just yet which sort of ticks me off, so maybe i'll look for a used 600.4 if there are any, or settle for a 440.4

glad i could get a sure thing on this ( i hope more sure than the nine.1, but considering it's being done by avionixx, i don't see why it wouldn't).

Hope this clears up some spepticism for some people. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, can anyone recommend any other really nice 4 channels...is the Orion 8004 good? I have the rockford 851x which i think is okay, but everyone has rockford. perhaps a tantrum 600.4. I really liked the avionixx cuz if it's high damping factor and cone control which usually signifies a good clean amp. Any recommendations for amps around $300-$350 (ebay prices) would be great. Thanks!

ps...i'd do 2 eD 2X100's if i had the space in my amp rack, i'll have to see how big they are, but i doubt it.

EVEN BETTER...I just found this stuff on the ED forums ...this is some solid information straight from Ben...not sure who he is, but he's from ED...turns out the 4 channels are coming out for sure just later down the road...YAY!!!

I don't know if everyone can go here...but here's the link to the eD forum...

Here's the jist of it.

One of the amplifiers (eD 1000) is more or less a improved version of the NINe.1. Essentially based around the same idea. Class D, Stackable, built in subsonic (etc etc).

This is pretty cool. Quick overview of the situation. This is bar none a joint venture with Avionixx. We are even using a slightly modified version of the Avionixx case and their amplifiers will pretty much cease to exist on the internet. Done a few upgrades here and there that were more or less intended for the 'next generation' of Avionixx amplifiers that have been implemented into these amplifiers. Nice thing is, it's all direct, so even though build costs go up for us the end factor pricing doesn't really go up at all for you guys, and the amplifiers get better

Cosmetically they will look the part. The same case as the Avionixx amplifiers (remember, flat out, this is a joint venture) only done in black to match the speakers, with diamond cut accents, 'elemental designs' on the top. No flashy lights or junk, and the mounting feet are modified as to what the avionixx amplifiers are. We are extending and cutting the end caps to the mounting feet can not be moved or broken (ala USAmps style). No screws or anything like that. We've also left it open for people to use a plexi plate on the back instead of the back piece if they want to inverse mount any of the amplifiers. No flying wires really at all. Pretty darn clean to look at.

Now. Performance wise. These amplifiers are not TRU amplifiers, USAmps, and they are not BRAX Amplifiers. But they are meant performance wise to be on the table with your JL Audio, Crossfire, ARC Audio, Eclipse (that type of price catogory) but obviously direct allows us to offer a good deal lower price. Pricing won't be released quite yet becuase we aren't ready to put them up for sale.

Now. Onto the actual amplifiers.

2 Channel. eD 200 - Rated 2x100 @ 4ohm - Yes it's rated conservatively.

4 Channel. eD 400 - Rated 4x100 @ 4ohm - Yes it's rated conservatively.

1 Channel. eD 1000 - Rated 1x1000 @ 1ohm - Yes it's rated conservatively.

1 Channel. eD 2000 - Rated 1x2000 @ 2ohm - Rating is pretty much dead on. Won't get much more than that out of it.

eD 200 & 400 both feature on board xovers, current and overload protection, High and Low pass xovers, and line outputs. Class A/B Amplifiers.

eD 1000 & 2000 both are stackable, have a subsonic filter. Are Class D. Meant 100% for subwoofer duty. I would have liked to offer these in a Class A/B but the end cost would have been simply too high, and I don't think we could sell them online worth a poop. Both 1000 & 2000 will be shipping with a included remote gain knob.

We are using stuff in these amplifiers much like we will be in our future drivers. Proven designs, done reliably, that perform free to junk. That's the idea behind em anyway.

We are looking at 2 months on the eD 200 & eD 1000, and a additional month on the eD 400 & eD 2000. Pricing will not be released quite yet, but for the product, it's definatly not a unreasonable one.

I hope the customs issue that once plague'd us will not happen again. We've chosen some very reputable people to work with. Albiet more expensive, reputation and experience I'm confident will pay for itself when the amplifiers ship out to people and they start using them for the first time.

Ben

SEE!!! I WAS RIGHT!
