Electronics in a sub enclosure?

Is it safe to put a music interface in a sub box? Will the vibrations damage the electronics? I was going to make a ported box for my two Alpine Type Rs and I was wanting to light up the ports with some led pods that flash with the music. Can I wire everything inside of the box if I run an extra 12v line to the inside of the box.

I dont see why not. one time this guy told me he had a reg cab ranger and no room for his amp so he put it inside the sub box. lol

I actually saw someone who put their amp inside the vent (surprise, Audiobahn equipment). I mean... it... KINDA worked, but I couldn't help but wonder if it screwed up tuning.

If the internal volume of the enclosure is designed to accomodate the amplifier, it wont hurt tuning at all. But heat disspation is a problem (yes, even in ported boxes), tuning is a problem (how will you adjust gains, for example) and running the wires will be a headache to say the least. Avoid mounting an amp in the box if at all possible. Putting lighting inside the box is fine however, and quite common.

i had a 36 inch neon tube in a box of mine it worked and the voltage drop made it beat with the music lol

leds are small, wont effect anything
