Heroes are remembered, but legends never die
Ok im just wondering what to expect. friday i will be getting a 220a HO alt that tested 248amps at 2k RPMS, to replace my stock 100a alt. I have 3 batts & big 3 done in HEAVYDUTY-2gauge pure copper wire and from alt to battery its only about 1.5 MAYBE, 2ft long at most. i figure it will hold since its such a short run. but yea im kind of wondering what i should expect from the upgrade because 100a - 220a seems like a pretty big chnage.

Feel free to chime in....

THANKS..

All the new alt is going to do is supply a more steady voltage and allow you to run bigger amps without voltage drop. It wont make your system louder or anything if that is what you are thinking

Edit: May be sllightly louder to the mic if you are having voltage drop now, but not louder to the ear

this i was what i was wondering. everyone makes a big deal about bigger alts. i was just wondering how it will make a difference.
