Just for grins today, when i got done with my midbass enclosures for my rear doors today, i headed to best buy, to "borrow" a couple type-r 12's, just to see how i liked them compared to my type-x's and the l7's, since i'm having trouble getting either the way i want.
So i got the type-r's, and dropped them into my type-x enclosure:
2.0net (don't know what it is with the r's in there instead, maybe 2.2?) tuned @ 30hz, so probably ~28hz with the r's.. Hooked up @ 2x2ohms for a 1 ohm load on my bxi2006d, so ~1800w rms.
And i'm still not getting loud! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Played with phasing? Check.
Hatch open, hatch down? Check.
Check gains with o-scope? Check.
Played with the volume? Check.
Faded to all 4 individual door speakers to make sure it's not a phasing problem? Check.
Windows up, windows down? Check.
Played with sub sonic filter? Check.
Played with x-over and x-over slope? Check.
No dice.
Is there anybody in my area that can give me a 2nd opinion?
I took a gander at the speakers with my hatch open, and they're MOVING! Not bottoming out, but definitely excursion-video quality moving, and still not even close to where i want to be.
If someone could give me a 2nd opinon, that'd be much appreciated, maybe i'm just insane or deaf, but it doesn't seem very loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif In fact, they sound almost identical to my type-x's.....
