say, someone has two subwoofers, each with dual 4 ohm coils...

first, he wires the coils in series, then the subs in parallel, to achieve an overall impedence of 4 ohms...is this correct?

second, he wires the coils in parallel, then the subs in series....would this also be a 4 ohm load?

are there any differences in doing it one way or the other?

Honestly I wouldn't have any clue. I can't imagine that it would make much difference one way or the other but if I am wrong (and it isn't that unlikely that I am!) then I'm sure someone will be along to correct me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

thank you, prowler, for your pleasant responses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You will need distribution blocks for the amps I would run 0 gauge to the blocks and 4 gauge to the amps. For the head unit I would us one that...
