efficient sub

what parameters do I need to look at that makes a sub good for IB applications? I think I'll buy one and try it IB first and if it doesn't sound good, I'll build a ported home for it.

If you're willing to wait until you're an old man, Adire should ship out it's new Shivas any decade now. I would be willing to believe that IB off 100w they would have one of the highest outputs of the subs listed.

If you really want a very efficient sub, try the old school Cerwin Vega 'Vega' series!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

96dB and down to 20Hz for the 15":eek:

The older XL series were 98-100dB and down to 20Hz!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif :eek:

Cerwin-Vega Vega 154Rated sensitivity = 96 dB

Efficiency (1 w @ 1 m) = 112 + 10*Log(9.64*10^-10*Fs^3*Vas/Qes)

Fs = 23 Hz

Vas = 181.2 liters

Qes = 0.39

Efficiency = 112 + 10*Log(9.64*10^-10*23^3*181.2/0.39)

Actual Efficiency = 89.4 dB (1 watt @ 1 meter)

Then explain to me why they are more well known for their loudness than some other subs?
