So I just got home from vacation today, and found a beautiful fuse and sub box sitting in my dining room! So I decide its time to finally get everything set up... and something that has been worrying me since the first day anything from my setup showed up, became a problem.

What I have is:

sub Massive Audio CW15

amp Alpine MRD-605

hu Alpine 9856

wire Knukonceptz

So basically, I got all the wire routed awhile ago with a friend of mine, connecting just the amp to the HU, and remote power and stuff, without plugging the + battery terminal in, but we did ground it. Yadda yadda, who cares. Today I was alone though, and got my amp to work. I followed the DVC schematics for wiring my sub, despite its three terminals. The amp powered on nicely with its soft blue light. The sub? No dice.

How its wired now:

Im wondering if, just in between where either cable goes from its first terminal to second, if it is supposed to perhaps... run in through the third terminal? Its of course a possibility, but I have truthfully no idea. Originally I thought the third (it is a tad smaller) terminal was something like a testing terminal, or something of that nature. Now I get the feeling its important.

I would love to have this up and running tomorow, I just want to basically get up, either call Massive Audio, or get some opinions here, try some stuff out, (buy some solder for the cup through the box... crimping isnt holding) and be able to finally break it in.

So any help is appreciated, and I apologize for the long post. Ive worked on a lot of systems before, but never seen this third terminal.

Yea, the third terminal is normally optional. If you don't want a crazy blue light, then don't hook it up. My friend bought two Hifonics Atlas's and had the same problem. Called me up all scared lol!

So lets say I do want it, how do I wire it? Do I just put the + or - cables into their respective terminals when its crossing the basket to get to the other speaker terminals or what?

And why else may this sub not be working if the amp is?

Oh... it says 12V. Where am I gonna find a 12V connection anywhere in my car.. or otherwise, to get it to work?

Woah... the massive audio wiring configurations show both positive and negative cables starting at the same terminal and ending at the same one (as opposed to sort of crossing over, having one cable start at the opposite side, how I have it wired now). Wouldnt this wire them in series, and be potentially bad for one of my coils (namely the latter wired)? Any help is appreciated... I may just run to best buy and say, get it running... to be honest

Well your remote turn on wire that goes from your head unit to your amp is 12 volts. I DONT.....neccesarily reccommend you splice it to that wire to get your 12 volts for the lights in your subs because It's possible to pop fuses doing so. But if you really wanted to you could.........

Eh... I just finally got my sub installed and working with a friend of mine... sealing took forever, so im just going to leave it how it is for a little while, and sometime down the line look at just telling best buy to get it hooked up. Haha.. im lazy, so kill me.

But yeah, got it installed. And jesus, it is loud. Still breaking it in... cant wait to turn the gain to about .3, sub system 1 on the HU (independent sub sound level from rest of volume...) and just go cruising.

And thank you to those that have helped me... I thought I did something wrong. Thank you all
