eDead Sound Deadener questions

I got this gallon of eDead v3? i believe that has been laying around for a few years ( and is hopefully still liquid). I think the time has come to apply it to my doors but I have a few questions.

I currently have solid sound deadener in the doors (I just got new speakers and theyre vibrating badly, which is why I want to apply the liquid). Is it a good idea or even effective to apply the liquid deadener on top of the solid deadener?

Its quite cold outside these days. Are there any drawbacks to applying the deadener in cold weather? How long should I expect it to take to dry?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong with putting liquid over mat, but I'd wait until it's a little warmer, or borrow someone's heated garage...

As someone that put on mat in 23 degree snowy weather outside, it's not fun...and I wouldn't even try it with liquid that needs to sit and dry.

i guess that stuff has a self life. call ED up and ask them. you might have to stir it really well. like everyone stated wait till it is warmer or if you can get a heated garage and leave your car in there for a day or two to dry that would be good.

Water based sound deadeners usually have a shelf life of 1 year depending on what type of biocide or fungicide they use. Water content also plays a major roll in the shelf life.

The more water a product has, the more it opportunity there is for mildew formation.

This is what ultimately will reduce a water based polymers shelf life, mold and mildew formation.

If you open the can up and done see any discoloration, you might be ok.

I would first call up ED and see what they say to be sure.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm wondering why people dislike eDead so much? I'm applying it in about 40 degree F weather and its not going badly at all.
