Alright, so I was sitting in my car tuning my amp, DMM in speaker outputs. It has two outputs (2 negetives and 2 positives). I had one negetive and one positive of opposing outputs plugged up with the DM. Got the DMM at about 39 volts, with a reccomended 42.42 (sq. rt. (900*2)) so i get to 42.0 exactly and i start putting my speaker wire in, from the sub. Get out of the car, get in the drivers seat, turn the key to accessorie, SMOKE! Turned the sh1t off right away. Smoke was coming out of it for a good 5 minutes or so. Why did this happen? What did I do wrong? Power and Ground wires were not touching each other (although they are in the shittiest place you could ever place them.....DIRECTLY BESIDE EACH OTHER. I don't see a logical reason other the defect that this would happen.
