I went ahead and ordered 8 of them ...from reading the reviews they sounded like good subs....I have a nice ported box I'm gonna put a pair in in my Explorer....

I put my 12 when I had it on 1,250w free air...made a nice video. From what I hear, you can put about 500w to them. I wouldn't doubt it, seemed like okay subs. For the price, not too bad.

I want to order one but the more I read it seems they dont like small boxes.

I want to be able to use it in a 1.5 cubes ported box, but all the revies say people got the best results from upwards of 2-2.5 cubes ported.

any thoughts on this from the people that know speaker mechanics better than I?

500w is a little much. I have one I use for home theater(1.5@25hz) off a 150w plate amp, sounds awesome.

well that seals it for me, I want a budget setup and I think I will spend my money on a used sub or soemthing else.

Well the cons outweigh the pros for me so far.

cons

likes bigger boxes, I dont want to go any bigger than 1.5 cubes.

heard from another member that his sounded muffled and wasnt musically dynamic.

seems I would need 2 of them to get decent output

Im in no real hurry Ill just wait for a nice deal to come along in the classifieds
