I'm thinking about grabbing a XA4000 to add more available power to my front stage, and I was wondering how you guys liked your XA amps. I noticed that they're full range class D...like the PDX amps, which I have heard a lot of people don't like because they just lack the "umph" in the midbass and midrange.

If you have some experience, please inform me of what you liked/disliked.

best component amp I have used. super clean and powerful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They use B&O Ice chips just like Alpine and Pioneer. Eclipse has been using full range Class D for awhile, including ICE chips since like 2001-2002 or so.

I've used both and my money goes to Eclipse for more than one reason.

Care to elaborate?
PDX wins on footprint, obviously. XA on rated power. XA on layout without silly speaker plugs. XA on looks. PDX on LED brightness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. PDX on power output if impedance drops.

Only thing I didn't like about the XA's is that the x-over section is not defeatable.

I've used a 1.600 for months (which is a millenium in my car) and it's done very well on a number of subs. For some reason it likes to get boiling lava hot, but has never shut down.

I've used many Eclipse amps and they are among some of my favorites. My 34230 has enough nuts to run every power tool in my garage if I needed it to.

i ran the xa1000 on subs the xa2000 on mids and the ea2000 on horns and i really liked the way they sounded. it definately didn't lack on midbass pushing my ID X65 mids.
I'll be running a pair of ID OEM's in each door, so I'm looking for a good bit of power(which the xa4000 obviously has). I can't decide if I want to get one amp and run my entire front stage off of it(every channel being ran at 2ohms, which I'd rather not do because of heat issues and amp stress), or get two of them and just bridge each one to do ~250x2 at 8hms...one for my mids and one for my tweets.
