Eclipse Coaxial review.

I went to one of the two local stereo shops on Tuesday. After i found an old box of 3 1/2 coaxial Eclipse speakers, i asked about more, and sure enough there was one other pair. A pair of 4" that were used in the demo board. Garenteed to work like new. He told me "35 dollars to take them and give me some shelf room". Realizing that Eclpise sounded nice, i figured what tha hell. Went out and they fit in tha holes just fine. Knowing they had been broken in i baught some bass blockers to round out the sound and hopefully keep distrtion to a minumum. Aftwer hooking up all wires i tested them Here is a list of titles i did after purchase. Bass was @ plus 3 and treble @ plus 2. Volume was at 19/35

Sine sweet 120khx-10hz.

Performed flawlessly. Super rich loucd crystal clear highs, anddeep smooth transitioning lows. Sounds like butta.

Lil Wayne- "Way of life"

Sounds decent. Slight trouble with some of the middle of the beat but still a major improvement over the old speakers.

Sade- "By your side"

Beautifal vocals. Voice sounded as if she was singing for me live in my car. Bass was rich, i really was beginning to be impressed by these speakers.

Bass somethign orother- "ID nation rule of tha nation"

Had to hear what these coul;d do in bass. These made clear hard bass. Was actually able to be loud as hell. Turned it up to 25 to see if it would distort and nothing. Now i knew these were soemthing eprcial.

Akinyle- "Just put it in ur mouth"

This is the ultimate testing for distortion beacuse the bassline changes frequencies so often. This song cause slight distortion @ 23 but when tuerned down to 20 was just fine. Speakers were still loud as hell to me. The girls vocals were sharp and sounded just as natural as i woudl expect from something like Infinity.

In essence, for the total of 37.58 i spent for these coaxials, and the bass blockers for them, i was very impressed. Performed well above all my expectations. I am considering Going eclipse on my next speaker purchase.

Thank you both very much. This is the ifrst time i have ever reviewed something. I am hoping to try a new 12" sub out soon, so hopefully i can start doing this on a regular basis. The sub possibly up for review is a Pionner diamondform or prehaps a newer style Kicker Impulse. Also coming up is a review of new 6.5" component system for the back doors, or some new 6x9's.

what models? You can't do a review and say eclipse speakers.............It would be like saying review of Alpine head unit.

Agreed, good job. Wish I had a few extra bones so I could get a good pair of mids, for now the road gear 4" will have to do, though they are a pretty good temporary solution for $14.

If u can fit 3 1/2 in there i can get tha same style eclipse speakers as I have for like 30-40 bucks.

oh tha model is an Eclipse 8243 for mine.
