Eclipse 5425 or Pioneer Primier DEH-680MP

both would be about the same price:

eclipse comes with ipod integration and has higher preout voltage and lower inpedience(5 V 55 ohm)

pioneer has the eq, detachable face and 4V 100ohm.

I like the looks of the pioneer better.

well it depends on what your main focus is,if its ipod rather then SQ then pioneer ftw. i had a 8445 and now i have a 880 for the ipod,either one will be great but if you are using the ipod you better make it easy to use....go pioneer

you just plug in the aux in cable for the ipod. you control everything from the ipod including volume. how is that not simple enough? and it is mini jack connectoin at the end of the cable. less connections is better.

well if you have the pioneer and get the ipod controller you control the ipod through the hu...rather then holding something in your hand and switching songs when you should be driving

i think it is safer to use the ipod because you are used to the organization of it. either way you are still fiddling with something and still focused on changing songs no matter if you do it on the deck or ipod. i hate the interfaces where you have to use the controls on the deck, well with alpine at least, but that is me.
