i think it is safer to use the ipod because you are used to the organization of it. either way you are still fiddling with something and still focused on changing songs no matter if you do it on the deck or ipod. i hate the interfaces where you have to use the controls on the deck, well with alpine at least, but that is me.

ah ha but the file system on the ipod matches the knob on the pioneer..i hear it is exactly like the ipod wheel...so there is no differance...

Actually, no its not any better. The 7700 wasn't even a Premier unit where as the 680 is.
