Ebay Refunds

I recently sold my Clarion Vrx6671z on e-bay because I thought that I could fix it, but it was more messed up than I thought. Here is a link to the auction. The buyer claims that he had it professionally installed and the screen did not pop out right, but before I removed it, it was fine. As you can see, I stated the item was sold "as-is" in the auction. First, am I required to give him a refund? I really don't care and I will give him a refund, but I just want to now if I am obligated to do so. Second, if I get the monitor back and I find out that the screen does pop out, what can I do? Can I refuse his request for a refund?

His winning of the auction = a contract. You stated in description that it was sold "as is" so you don't have to do anything thereafter the point of sale... It's up to you now if you do anything extra...

You don't have to do anything. This once happened to me, so I emailed the bidder back and said if it was in the same shape I shipped it in with the same serial number(intact) that I'd give a refund. They then declined and said they'd just pay to get it fixed. hmmmm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. If I bought a clarion screen on ebay for $200 I wouldnt even expect it to work lol. Its all up to you.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided I am not going to give him a refund. I posted this on ebay's answer center and the guy there said once he had it installed he had accepted the item, and I do not have to give him a refund. Just for fun here is the email that he sent me:

I have received my Clarion Indash Motorized LCD Monitor today and had it professionally installed. I was told that the screen didn't pop out properly as it should have. There is a defect more than was listed. I am sending this item back for a full refund. KENNY911CARS@HOTMAIL.COM

If I am not mistaken AS-IS means... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif ....AS-IS....... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
