Lay painters tape...spray foam. When you are done with it, the tape will pull right off. Easy. Simple. Cheap

This may be what i do. I will probably still try to make some kind of panel for the front of the box going into the cabin. i think that will help sealing if the idea in my head works out

what you mean by trim panel, i have never done a trunk seal off so im not sure what you mean

The panel you are talking about adding to help seal off. Do it. Thats how weve always done it. Looks cleaner. Foam behind it
