DVD Player Help

Sorry this might sound soooo stupid but I have no clue how to take out my JVC DVD Player. I have two little metal thingies that you put into the side of the player, but they don't lock on to anything....how are you supposed to take it out? Sorry if it's stupid, but I have to wire some stuff up to the back and can't get it out

honda civic 97 lx....here's an old pic but it has the dvd player in it

and the metal inserts are suppposed to be used to unhook the dash kit from inside the dash so you can pull it out.

yeah...but where are they supposed to go in the dvd player? becuz i tried everywhere and i can't get them to lock in place.

if you look closely, you should see 2 slots (1 on each side) of the radio. push them in, then "push" them to "unlock" the headunit and slide it out.

ive tried that but maybe i'm just not getting them in far enough, i'll have to go look and try again.

yeah well theres no way i can get it out, the metal brackets are really small and they don't lock no where....

it's hard for me to explain or maybe i don't kno about those cars. hopefully someone will come along and help you. if not, you can go to a honda forum and ask them.

well that's the model, KDAV7010 but yeah...I mean I put the brackets in there but it just doesn't lock...hmm...oh well. thanks for u help though
