Dvd burning help?

I bought an external dvd burner awhile back and I just had my computer repaired and had a new cd burner put in and the repair man put in something new because my old usb ports didnt work on the front of the computer and it looks like you can slide video cards or other cards into it along with a 2.0 usb port but the problem is I cant get my Dvd burner to work because the usb drives are reading 1.1 rather than 2.0 and I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help?

try it on another USB port? and what did u have repaired on it?

lol, he replaced it with either a 1.0 card or put the plugs into the 1.0 ports on the motherboard. good job!
