I cant burn DVDs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

my burner:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152039

my dvds:

http://cgi.ebay.com/50-PACK-8X-PRODISC-4-7GB-CLEAR-COAT-AZO-DYE-DVD-R-DVDR_W0QQitemZ5225567872QQcategoryZ80135QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

everytime I click on properties...it says I have 0 bytes available...and 0 bytes total (I used 14 random blank discs and they all tell me the same shyt)

yet when I use a regular CDR and it tells me I have 700MBs

please help

Ive used Nero, One Click Dvd, and Roxio

it has nothing to do with the burning software

on my PC Properties screen it tells me that I have 0 bytes when I insert a blank DVD-R

thanks for your reply

so its normal for a DVD-R to show 0 bytes total space as well as 0 bytes free space?

even before I try to burn the dvd...it shows 0 bytes

also....when movies are encoded it states that there isnt enough room available.....how could that be if its 4.7 gbs and I was trying to burn roughly 740 mbs?

thanks for your replies guys...as you can see, Im all new to this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

DOOD thats a waste of a DVD!

I know...I was just trying to let you all know that I have 4.7 gigs available yet if I tried to download 740 mbs it will still tell me that I need more space //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

dvd shrink/decrypter....ok, will do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

them might be non compatible disks they are not a big name brand, I've had problems with disks not working right before on my pioneer a07 thats why I usually use ri-data or ri-tech tdk seem to be good cheap ones too. would tell ya to send me a disk to try it out but shipping might not be worth it for ya;)

well...it wasnt the dvds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I deleted my IDE control and did a reboot now it reads the dvd

but now the programs Im using is giving a headache

Im using a 700 mb AVI movie and Im trying to burn on Roxio.

The disc Im using is 4.7 gb DVD-R

it goes over the 4.7 gb limit by more than 2 gigs (DVD builder)

then when I try to burn a vcd or super vcd, it gives me a limit of 80 mins or 703 mbs

same thing with NERO

any advice is appreciated

but if the movie file is 700 mbs.....as a AVI it will take up more space on a 4.7 gb dvd disc?

I dont get it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

also....what program do you suggest to convert the AVI file

thanks again
