DVD and CD burning software

What's the best bang for your buck CD and DVD recording software? I had Roxio and it messed up my windows as I now have a message that comes up saying a fatal error will occur if it is ran so windows wouldn't allow it to run. Is nero really the best thing I can get? Wasn't that impressed by it when I had it on my PC. Thanks.

Nero = Free: useful for copying already copied DVD's (or burning anything you want)

Those 2 programs right there are the tandem that I use for copying DVDs. They work like a charm.

DVD X Copy Xpress RF is by far the best I've used in terms of speed and quality ... Unfortunately, the company who made it got sued into oblivion ...
DVD Shrink takes forever, although the quality is good (using high quality settings, the low quality setting is fast but the reproduction is terrible and, thus, not worth using) ...

CloneDVD is the best current DVD copying software I've used ... I like the features, the speed could be better but still a lot faster than Shrink, and the quality is very good ...

Nero, of course, is a great all-around program, although the DVD copying takes forever just like DVD Shrink ...

For ripping, copying, and burning CDs, Windows Media Player does a good job and is probably already on your computer ... EAC is a great ripper, as well ...

I notice you bring up SPEED alot in this post. Speed has nothing to do with making a good, high quality copy of a CD or DVD. If someone can't wait a little longer for a quality copy then they don't deserve one.
