A woman who fell through the floor of an old house in the Estonian capital Tallinn while having *** had to be pulled out of the basement by rescuers using a fire-fighter's ladder, officials said on Tuesday.

"A couple from the street entered the courtyard of an old house under renovation, and the woman fell through the floor while apparently having ***," rescue department spokesperson Marek Simulson said.

"Rescuers had to use a fire fighting ladder to rescue the 22-year-old woman from the basement, which was 2,5m deep," he said.

The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday in Tallinn's mediaeval Old Town.

"The woman, who was conscious and breathing after the accident, was taken to hospital for treatment," Simulson said. -- AFP

It's a freakish double tragedy for one Pennsylvania family.

Two brothers were killed in separate motorcycle accidents on the same stretch of road within just two hours of each other. One was headed to the scene of his brother's accident.

Steven Kerr was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a speed limit sign. Less than two hours later, and only about 100 yards away, his younger brother was fatally injured when his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a stopped vehicle. Police say he was speeding as he headed for the scene of his brother's accident.
