I just purchased this kind of dvd player for my computer, and when I used it to play a dvd it is a little skippy, like it plays pauses a little, plays, puases. I have a P3 1 ghz processor and 320 MB of ram and a stock videocard I was wondering what the most nessicary upgrade would be.

You do not need hardware decoding when you have a 1ghz processor. Software will work perfectly I have a 433mhz celeron that plays dvds perfectly with onboard graphics.

I turned my screen res. down to 1152 by 864 and she plays them fine now. But Im still curious why that is, my intergrated graphics can't handle playing movies with 1280 by 1024 or what?

Well that is pretty intense work for a computer like that. What are you using to play dvds?
