Ok heres my problem, i have an mtx 81000d and i had 2 infinity perfect 4ohm subwoofers. At 2 ohms that amp puts out like 1500 + watts which was too much for the subs. I am wondering if i could get a third DVC sub and wire that in series so its at 8 ohms and wire it parellel with the other two to obtain like a 1.7 ohm load which i think the mtx should handle fine. This would decrease the amount of power to each sub. Doesnt anyone have any recommendations against this? I'm not sure if its alright to do that or if it will sound good. ANy help would be appreciated.
