DVC solobarics 1ohm vs. 4ohm??? HELP!

Ok so I took all of your advice that said a Kicker 1500.1 amp (2 ohm stable) would handle 1 ohm just fine. Well it does not. Protection kicks on at high levels.

I have 2 Solobaric 4 ohm subs. I was looking at the rockford fosgate wiring diagram and wired them up for a 1 ohm load. Well that didnt work so I am now looking at the diagram for a 4ohm load.

The sub sounded great before protection kicked in. How much of a difference will I notice changing the load to 4 ohm?

Biggest difference will be that the amp probably won't shut off when you crank it up...

You'll lose a couple dBs of output. Since the amp was going into protect it probably wasn't making a whole ton of power and thus the loss won't be huge. Good news is that the amp will run cooler.

plus u'll see like half power at 4ohm.(just guessing) why not look for a 1ohm stable amp

or dual 2 ohm subs which is ever cheaper. personally if you are going to listen to it loud alot the 4 ohm load would be safer for longevity.
