help me out here guys,

im getting the JBL 1200.1, and a pair of infinity perfect 10s, but im not sure whether i should go with the SVCs or the DVCs,

theyre both 4ohms and the rms wattage for each is 350, peak is 1400w

what would the difference be? i can get them both for pretty much the same price...

as you can pobably guess, im pretty new to all this, so thx in advance 4 any suggestions

Being new to this forum, I don't want to step on anybodies toes, but I suggest u go with the single voice coil versions. Running both SVC's subs in parrell will acheive a nice 2ohm load and the JBL 1200.1 is rated 1200 watts at 2 ohms. That's just a suggestion it all dpeneds how you want to arrange your subs, and how much juice you want out of them.

I would get the svc's to get 2 ohms as well, but I would really watch the gains with that amp on those subs. You will be giving them double their rated rms witth a 1200.1, which is a no no for perfects.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

I have a better idea (maybe). I would get the dvc and wire them in parallel to produce a 4 ohm load and then you'll only be putting 300 or so into each one.

I started to suggest getting a jbl 600.1 and going with the svc's in parallel like drasik and jt said, but the 600.1 is about $200 and the 1200.1 is only $285 so it's a better deal, and if you decide to upgrade later it would be nice to already have a 1200.1.

I'm new to this too, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My perfects should be here wednesday (my b-day) and I started to go with the svc, but that would have been a 1.33 ohm load and I would have been overpowering them by over 100 watts, so I went with the dvc, now it will be a 2.67 ohm load and they should be getting close to that 350rms.

but the 600.1 is about $200 and the 1200.1 is only $285 so it's a better deal, and if you decide to upgrade later it would be nice to already have a 1200.1.

thats exactly the reason why im gonna be getting the 1200.1, in case i ever wanna change out the 10s to 12s

i probably will end up getting the DVCs then, so as not risk blowing em

this might be a dumb question, but does anyone know what the results would be

if i were to hook up one SVC and one DVC together on one amp?

The 10's and 12's have the same rms rating so nothing would change there. (I'm assuming you meant Perfect 12's)

As far as your other question, I have no idea. This is a complete guess, maybe the dvc would get 2/3 the power and the svc 1/3
