DVC can be wired at 2ohm and 8ohm

The Rockford Fosgate page only shows DVC wiring options for 4ohm or 1 ohm but my amp manual shows a way to do it 2ohm and 8ohm.

This is exactly what it says, word for word.

Parallel voice coil wiring (2ohm operation): To wire a DVC subwoofer in parallel in order to get 2 Ohms, use 2 short pieces of speaker wire and link the positive of one coil to the positive of the second coil and do the same for the neg coil. Then wire the amplifier to opposite sides of the subwoofer in order to equalise any connection resistance.

Series voice coil wiring (8ohm operation): To wire a DVC subwoofer in series in order to get 8 Ohms, use one short piece of speaker wire and link the positive from one voice coil to the negative of the second coil. Then wire the amplifier to opposite sides of the subwoofer.

your book and the website are talking about subs with different voice coils or they are talking about different quantities of subs

It depends on the subwoofer, forget what the amp manual says. Is the sub a dual 1, 2, or 4?

i could get the 2ohm ones or the 4ohm ones. probaably should get the 4 ohm ones so i can run them 1 ohm @ 1150rms.

the fosgate page says 4 ohms or 1 ohm if i get the 4ohm subs but if i get the 2ohm ones i have to run them .5, 2, or 8ohms: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=4
