dumb system comparison thread

okay basically my cousin and I both have camaros which are notorious for being LOUD (hatchback). well we've always had a lil competition going of who could have the loudest, best soundin system.

his current setup is a Power Acoustik 2000 or so watt amp and 2 audiobahn AW1206T 12's(1100 rms), sealed in about a cube each. aslo he's got 4 kicker coaxial 6.5's running off his shitty sony HU.

mine will be a single Mach 5 SPL 12 (possibly a 15) in 3 to 3.5 cubes tuned at 36hz running off my rf t20001bd(2500ish rms @ 1ohm) and 4 PG rsd 6.5s running off a RF t4004 or possibly a t8004.

should I have more bass then him or no?

what about the rest of my system?

He is stuck on mainstream and im getting out of it, and the whole "my system is louder than yours" thing is stupid but we've been doing this since we both started driving. thanks

Either way, you both will be pretty loud. My freind had a 3rd Gen. Iroc, with two CVR 12's and it got pretty **** loud, with only 250 rms going to each sub.

I'd love to see your build come together, and I think it will be VERY **** loud.

I hate Civic hatch backs, but evey time I see one, I say ****, if I only had one.

nothing dumb about comparing systems, it's competition if it is then any sport is also stupid. port ftw, i've learned in my experience coming from 2 sealed 15s on ~800 watts to one ported at ~450 and ported is at least 6 dbs higher.

You halved the power and went ported and think you gained 6 dBs?! You got numbers to back this up? Otherwise that's a ridiculous claim....

I'm pretty sure my amp will put out more power but those particular audiobahns aren't as bad as others. he'll also have about 50 more square inches of displacement

Which car is loudest really depends on the install. And none of us can tell you which install is better over the internet.
