OK, so I'm looking at replacing the door speakers in my '08 Jeep GCSRT8. I have found specs showing the front and rear doors are "full range," - 6x9's in the front doors, 6.5's in the rear. An installer I've used in the past suggested I get 2-way speakers, as 3-way coaxials have too much going on that leads to a decrease in sound quality as opposed to a 2-way coax. Is this true? My thought was that since the doors are "full range," that must mean the head unit is sending certain frequencies to them, and going with a 2-way might mean losing some of those frequencies in the music all together, and that I should stick to a 3-way full range since that is how it came from the factory. Am I incorrect? Feel free to school me on the difference between 2 and 3-way coaxials and my application.
