Dumb question I"m sure - school me

OK, so I'm looking at replacing the door speakers in my '08 Jeep GCSRT8. I have found specs showing the front and rear doors are "full range," - 6x9's in the front doors, 6.5's in the rear. An installer I've used in the past suggested I get 2-way speakers, as 3-way coaxials have too much going on that leads to a decrease in sound quality as opposed to a 2-way coax. Is this true? My thought was that since the doors are "full range," that must mean the head unit is sending certain frequencies to them, and going with a 2-way might mean losing some of those frequencies in the music all together, and that I should stick to a 3-way full range since that is how it came from the factory. Am I incorrect? Feel free to school me on the difference between 2 and 3-way coaxials and my application.

I've installed three ways in the past and felt they did nothing to improve the sound over coaxials. In my opinion I prefer the sound of a coaxial...quality speakers...In my opinion separating the speakers so much requires more parts that don't improve the sound that it isn't worth it.

I'd prefer a good pair of 6.5 components in the front doors and if you need/want a pair of 6.5 coaxials in the rear doors. But I prefer fronts only and would use the money spent for the rear speakers to buy better fronts.

OK thanks.

Yea Crutchfield told me that there are no aftermarket 6x9's that will fit in the front factory 6x9 location, and that they instead suggested a 6.5 with a mounting bracket they would include. I was afraid of losing bass compared to the stock 6x9's though.
